I know I asked this same, simple question somewhere a couple of months ago, but I can't find where I asked it, so I can't find how I fixed it then, so I'll ask it again here this time.

I have and external HD connected via USB to my WinXP laptop. I would like it to be drive D:/, and it was for several months. But, it has suddenly renamed itself to drive E:/, so every shortcut that maps to drive D:/ now doesn't work. I know there's a way to rename it back to being D:/, but I can't remember how.

Could someone please help me do this?

    Thanks,
    Christina

Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management - (Right click on E:\) - Change Drive Letter and Paths - Change - Assign the following drive letter - D.

Thanks, I knew it was something like that, but I wasn't finding it. And now, hopefully I'll be able to find this answer the next time I have to rename it back to being what I want it to be.
