I would like to make it look like the rectangular button in Windows XP, I'm not sure what Microsoft was thinking when they made it ugly and round. Is there a quick way to do this?

You can switch to the Windows Classic Theme (in the Theme Settings), which will almost change everything to rectangular.

Ugly and round? In what world is a clunky rectangle more elegant than a circle?
-
I don't find it uglier either. But yeah you can use the classic theme if you prefer.

You could try Windowblinds 6 and it comes with a 30 day free trail. You won't lose aero because they first introduced the glass look for Windows XP. There are hundreds of user created themes for WB6.
