Up front, spare me the security warnings, heard it a million times, don't care. Again, how to disable update only, I will ask moderation to remove any post that has anything to do with any kind of warning, reasons not to disable, etc. Trust me, I know them all and broken records repeating what everyone has heard ad nauseam is a useless waste of everyone's time. To the couple of you folks who think this doesn't mean you, it does. Please, no warnings, no reasons not to, and thank you for withholding said responses.

So... My connection really is metered, so far this month windows update has taken me down for 160 bucks. I'm way past selecting metered connection and all that stuff that hasn't worked for some time. Can anyone tell me a way that works as of today, Sept 14, to completely disable Win 10 update and the update medic? If possible I'd like it to be simple to get it working again so I can update when I get to civilization but dead and impossible to restore isn't that big an issue, I have a very complete backup and I can reinstall quickly. Thanks.

Take a chill pill with your I will ask any moderator to delete any post which has to do with reasoning. No one said a thing yet for you to have this attitude. If you're mad at Micro$h4ft go take your anger on them. Your tone is plain rude.

anyway, enough with the drama, here you go:

    Windows Update Blocker 1.1

Run it as admin, disable the service and tick on the protect the service check box then go have a Dr. Pepper

There is no drama and I didn't make the internet what it is but I know how it works. Despite what I wrote someone will almost certainly do exactly what I requested they not do, it should however keep at least some from doing so which made it worth typing because their advice while pointless isn't free, I have to pay real money for it and yet it serves no master. Thanks for the link, I'll give it a go.

Since you like to make disparaging remarks why don't you direct that to Microsoft support instead then. And spare the rest of us the trama your creating.
