    How do I configure Speedfan?

    The fans have been running high for no apparent reason. Just playing solitaire would cause the fan RPM to go to maximum.

    I downloaded and installed Speedfan, and the problem is worse. I do nothing and the fans take off as soon as a start the computer.

    I Googled how to configure Speedfan, and the instructions are esoteric to me.

    Can anyone give some simple instructions how to configure Speedfan?

    I know I have to go into advanced, but it does not allow me to select "Manual" like I have seen in tutorials. Default is Auto, and the drop down menu option is "Software".
