I'm using an HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop and is using Win Vista, and now I want to install WinXP and it displays the message that says "No hard disk detected", but when I'm installing Vista it just flows without those messages. So, my question is how do I crack it to allow all kind of OS.

    Please help me guys.

    Regards
    Skill

you need to put your SATA controller into Compatibility/IDE mode, or integrate SATA drivers into your XP installation CD (nlite).

You don't have to do nothing to allow your system for any OS in particular, rather than installing it. The issues you can get is that there are no drivers available for your model, or that some hardware is not supported; but there is no such thing like "cracking" it.

Be sure that the Windows XP copy you have is a legity one, because cracked OS'es aren't the way to go IMHO. If you don't want to pay for your software, search for a Linux distro that suite your needs better (and support your hardware too). If you have been a long time Windows user, Ubuntu is a good starting point.

XP SP2 is probably what you need, or you need SATA drivers during install of your older XP version.

SP2 doesn't include SATA drivers as far as I am aware.

This is actually a very good question - modern computers benefit from Vista! :)
