I have a Acer 5920g and am looking to upgrade the whole thing. I am looking towards upgrading to windows 7 if its worth it... well with the student discount at $29.99 it seems like it is. But I want to do a clean install of Vista first how do I do that without any disks?

by somewhere getting the vista setup iso, or just the actual disk contents. then taking a usb stick, preparing it to boot, copy the files over (not the iso, you'd have to unpack), and boot from the stick.

at least, that's how i would do it, there might be other ways. (and i have technet, so i can download them legally, with no virii involved)

Just have to check the CRC/checksum to see if it has been modified. I use the Vista SP2 from Technet (but you can probably find other sources...) w/ code 80B2EDB5 / AAEE3C04533899F9F8C4AE0C4250EF5FAFBE29A3.
