Hi, I recently purchased a M17x from Alienware with two 500GB hard drives running in Raid performance. My upgrade copy of Windows 7 just arrived and I would like to install it. I know that in order to do a clean install of windows I must format my hard drives. Is there anything special I need to do to have my hard drives run in raid performance though? I have installed windows before on my other computer but it wasn't running in raid. I'm a little worried about messing something up : /

    Thanks,

More than likely, there is nothing that you need to do. Windows 7/Vista is very good about installing the raid drivers right off the bat. At least that was always my experience. Other than installing the OS, there should be nothing that you have to do.

The sure fire way to tell though is once you get into the Windows setup, and you get to the point where it askes you where you want to install Windows, if at that point the setup sees your drives as one big drive, you're good to go! If not, then you will need to manually point it to a driver that you would need to load onto a USB stick so it can find it.

Ok thanks, where would I find the driver that I would need?
