    Hi, I downloaded the leaked version of WMP 11, and now I can't get the old one back on. I need to do so because I am having trouble getting the real version of it from MS. I first need to download and install a media center rollup 2 update, which I am manually doing because of other problems. When I try to install WMP 10 it tells me that a newer version is running, and I have tried removing it in the add delete programs menu, and it says it will rollback, but it doesn't. Any ideas? Thanks :)

    Hm, if you can't uninstall it through the add/remove programs, try removing it altogether from Add/Remove Windows Components.
    If this fails, you've got problems because WMP is heavily integrated with Windows. You can still try some uninstallers and maybe they'll work. Look at the sticky above for some of those.

    ok to remove windows media player 11; i think u need to go to:

    1)start--->control panel--->add or remove programs--->ADD/REMOVE WINDOWS COMPONENTS.

    2)that should launch Windows Components Wizard.

    3)next look for the Windows media player, remove it (by clearing the checkbox), and click next. and i believe that should do it.

    hope this works.

    In Add/Remove Programs, tick the SHOW UPDATES box at the top and remove the WMP 11 Encoder (or something similar).
    You will not need to reinstall WMP 10 as this is a rollback process not an uninstallation.
    Try searching the forums, as this has been asked before.

    Yea, I tried rolling back, but it didn't work. I ended up just reinstalling windows over the existing configuration and that worked of course. Thanks for the help!
