I have an ASUS laptop with Windows 10 aboard. For some particular reason, the keyboard if touched will wake up the computer when touched. I've unchecked the "allow this device (keyboard) to wake the computer" but this does not fix the issue. There is nothing in the BIOS that gives me any option either.
Is there something else that might be done so I can stop the keyboard from doing that?

Unless there is a option to disable the keyboard as you tried and didn't work your option is to contact Asus support and ask them for your model what will pevent the keyboard from waking up the laptop.
-
Good. I'll call them collect at the beginning of the week.

Does the unit actually "sleep" or does it Hibernate? There may be a difference in terms of how the keyboards works under those settings.
-
The laptop sleeps for the Hibernate has been disabled. Typing in at the Command Prompt "powercfg -devicedisablewake "keyboardname" I get this ""Unable to perform operation. An unexpected error (0x490) has occurred. Element not found."
Have you an idea as to why I am getting this particular message? -
Probably looking for a "keyboardname" ?
-
On this laptop, it gives me the following, "HID Keyboard Device" and nothing more. Do you think it's just not able to pick up on that particular name?
-
When I googled that phrase powercfg -devicedisablewake "keyboardname" I got some responses. One was the exact opposite of your problem but it may give you some hints on how to fix your problem.
Do you have a powered usb hub plugged in a USB port on your computer? That seemed to be a issue for one person. But we will wait till you call ASUS if none of the above fixes your problem. -
No powered usb plugged in. I just tried something else. I checked off the mouse in Device Manager to allow it to wake up the computer from its timely nap. I notice it doesn't work. Something is weird and wonderful within this system and it's beginning to get scary.

Two things. One is, I do not get email notifications from this website when one does make a reply. Secondly, since responses are so slow coming in here, I'm closing out this tab. If something does come up here, I'm not going to see it for a while. Thus my not responding.
