    How do I turn off Numlock key from being on at bootup?

    I think if you turn it off before you shut down it should be stay off when you start up again. I'm not sure though.

    Sometimes there's an option in the BIOS that let you adjust this setting

    & sure, 2nd someone's point = acknowledge someone's good point(er)

    Not the change the subject but how do you turn on numlock at boot?

    I don't see an adjustment option in my BIOS so am I SOL?

    Try turning numlock on before you shut down. It should be on when it boots again.

    hmmm, personal experience tells me that "dim" (?) people would take any good suggestions - however repetitive they are - with grace and appreciation

    sure, we should make sure that any forum users that use "2nd this, 2nd that" statement to keep it to themselves in future - good tip :p

    Numlock is on when I shut down but I have to turn it back on at boot. My laptop is an hp dv9207us with numeric keypad on the keyboard if that makes a difference.
