I am running a bootcamp parition of Windows 10 on a recent retina macbook pro and would like to see how disabling turboboost on the cpu would affect my gameplay (GTA 5 Online), which currently gets too hot if i don't manually cool it, gets thermally throttled and the frame rate nosedives

You shouldn't need Throttlestop to do this. Just go into your power plan through control panel and in the advanced options set maximum processor performance to 99%. Be advised that doing this will likely only delay the onset of thermal throttling, not stop it completely.

Tbh a macbook shouldnt be overheating at all even with turbo boost. Whens the last time you cleaned out your vents?

To answer your question, on the left hand side of the Throttlestop window, reduce the 'set multiplier' setting - only one step should do the trick for your purposes, although you'd be surprised at how far you can reduce it when doing certain tasks. Select 'Save' and 'turn on' and you're done. Select 'EIST', too.
How do I use Throttlestop to disable turboboost on my i7 cpu? I understand none of its controls
