It's in the options menu somewhere, AIM tends to call it "Performance" or something.
You can try removing the registry key for it, go to START--->RUN, type "regedit", then find the key path called: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
In this key folder, there should be one for AIMTriton or something like it. Delete it and it shouldn't autostart again. Of course, this may not prevent AIM from auto-inserting a new key every time you launch it. But it's worth a try.
WARNING: Don't mess with the other keys/values unless you know what you're doing. You've been warned! -
Top of your buddy list window: Edit > Settings > Sign in/Sign out > Uncheck the box that says "Start Aim when Windows starts."
