I didnt use my microphone alot in the past and i now have windows 7, its an inbuilt microphone and i cant use it on msn/skype or for voice chat. How do i get it working again? I went to control panel and checked out the recording devices, there it shows 2 microphones, but one says its unavailable.

Any advice? Im not sure if i have the drivers itself for the microphone.

Do you know what type of sound device you have? Like maybe realtek or sigmatel?

If it's realtek HD audio then *try these drivers*

What laptop? I had the same problem with my laptop, but when I installed the Vista drivers instead of the Windows 7 driver the mic worked. So uninstall the audio drivers and install the vista drivers.
