I just noticed that my school is on the list for msdnaa... how do i secure an account, login, and snag a free copy of vista business?

    im excited now.

Freesta is way more appealing than Vista. I might actually use vista one day for dx10 when crysis comes out... instead of NEVER... since its free.

you need to talk to the tech guy in your department or whoever is in charge of creating accounts... at my University some departments will automatically create every student a MSDNAA account and email you the login information without even asking at the start of the term, other departments you have to talk to someone to add you...

It may only be offered to certain departments, that's how our campus handles it. Generally it's the computer/IT majors that get access (computer engineering, computer science, management info systems).

Use Linux then ;) You can probably still get a copy of Vista for less than $100 from your school bookstore under an academic license, if you really want to use it.

And on that note, I hate when people are so indoctrinated by Microsoft from their IT education departments being bought out by MS that they don't actually know how to do anything in a heterogeneous environment when they get out, and don't understand the technology, they just know where to click. I love MSDNAA. I signed up for some low-credit summer courses in programming (c# and visual basic.net). They're all web-based and in a uni about 700km from my city. I get all sorts of goodies free.

Lol I did that too. For the amount you pay for the class, the software almost made up for it :)

Ummm... Here's the kicker: University is free in sweden. In fact, you get paid to go to uni (will cover book cost and stuff like that, not enough to live on if you stay at a dorm, but might cover the monthly fees). :D

What happens to the MSDNAA product keys once you exit uni? Does MS block them?

Nope, They remain usable. However, they seem to be one-time use only (at least OS's), so pretty much all you can do is install once.

It used to be just above 30% for us in stockholm, but the social democrats (kinda like the labour party, left-ish) lost the election last year, so the righty moderates (well, right-ish, since they've designated themselves as the new labour party. besides, on a global scale they're center) and support parties are at power now and they tend to lower taxes. But we do have free healthcare, schools, cheap water and other stuff included for free or cheap because of our taxes. Right now our taxes in Stockholm (El capital) are a bit below 30%.

Your welcome to come. Thing is though, most (nearly all) undergraduate studies are in swedish. We have, however, lots more postgraduate studies in english. If you really are interested, i can give you some sites for studying in sweden.

That is nice. I got MSDNAA and they gave me 6 product keys for it. I will be switching Uni and it will take me a few weeks before I can use MSDNAA there.

So far I have used 2 on 2 different computers. Reinstalling on the same computer again was no problem. Well I got 4 keys left. I am not sure if this is a bug in my unis system but I got 6 keys because we have the DVD version of Vista which gets you one key and a CD version of Vista where it is a set of 5 cds each one with a different key.
