    Hey guys,

I have a 4.1 surround speaker system, and I'm trying to hook it up using an S/PDIF Optical audio interface. In Windows, I remember in Advanced Volume Controls, there use to be a "S/PDIF Output" box in advanced volume controls. Now all I've got in XP is Treble and Bass controls?

Does anyone have any ideas how to activate S/PDIF?

I've tried googling and searching NBR, but I couldn't find any answers.

Sound Card: Intel 82801CA/CAM Audio Controller.
    Speakers: Altec Lansing ADA885 (4.1).

I'm also running Win XP. On my volume tab (control panel/Sounds and Audio Devices Properties) I have "speaker settings" with an advanced button. There I find "speaker setup" with about a dozen choices including several multi-channel options.

Maybe that's what you're looking for.
