How do you block a website in Windows Vista?

 

I dont know what you mean , but what does it have to do with alienware?

 

Control Panel - User Accounts and Family Safety - Parental Controls.

You will need to set up a non-administrative account.

 

you can use Parental Controls of Kaspersky internet security

 

add the website in your hosts file. website.com 127.0.0.1

 

lol old school. I love it. I did this to myspace on my computer and made it redirect to facebook lol they could not figure it out at all.

 

internet routers often have options to block websites if you have admin access to your router.

 

Under "access restriction" with a Linksys router.

 

You can add the exception in the hosts file. This works on any windows version.

 

Either the host file or if you have a router you can do it there too. Neat trick if you have a time sink and are trying to get stuff done. Or you are pulling a prank on someone else.

 

On some firewalls you can also add the website to a list of banned IPs.

 

Perhaps the easiest solution (if you are a Firefox user) is to simply install BlockSite (a Firefox extension) and add the site you want to block to the blacklist.

Of course this would leave other browsers allowing the site... ah well.
