Hi everyone. Yeah so I have a version of Windows XP on an SD card. Is it possible to boot from an SD card in anyway? Thanks. I know there are easier ways to do this so please refrain from stating the obvious.

It depends on whether your BIOS can recognize your SD card reader as a bootable device. If the BIOS doesn't recognize it you probably can't boot from it. But there may be a workaround.

You might be able to boot from the SD card if you use an external USB card reader for your SD card. Your BIOS may then see the USB reader as a USB HDD device and allow you to boot from it. You will have to make sure the USB HDD (or whatever your BIOS calls it) is listed as the first device to boot in the BIOS boot order screen.

The 'easier' way to do this is to use a version of XP that you personally own and are licensed for.

NP! Thank you for the suggestion. I could use a cheap reader as well, as my notebook's BIOS won't boot SD devices directly, either. :spinny:
