OK i'm stumped. I tried disabling the service via GPedit.msc -> Administrative Templates -> Start Menu and Taskbar -> "Turn off taskbar thumbnails". I disabled the program, rebooted and they still show up when I hover my cursor over an active icon in the taskbar.
Also how do I turn off secondary logon? I didn't see the option in GPedit as well.

Great piece of software, if you are looking to get the old behavior of the taskbar back, thats the program you need. -
Secondary logon is a Service, not a GPO. Look under Services.msc.
BTW, the setting is "Turn off taskbar previews". By disabling it, you essentially turn off "turn off taskbar previews." Hence the reason the previews still show up.

You thus, need to enable it. -
Doesnt matter, they "removed" the option in RC1.

I tried what you said and they still show up.
edit: I just brought up the box again and it says it's only supported in Windows Vista, rats. -
So what? I posted a solution in the first post.

I tried it and I forgot to say thanks. Thanks !
I prefer to disable something without having to create more processes on the system. I'm fine tuning the OS as my gaming rig as i've moved on from XP. -
You could just increase the hover time before the preview shows.

Just jack up the value. -
If you like dragging and dropping files around, then that tweak will be a pain.
and Rodknee really.. we are talking 2mb ram... come on -
This is true. I always use cut and paste....

Microsoft loves to confuse us with double negatives.

I'm a cheapskate what can I say, LOL.

lol well then.. enjoy your 2mb more ram which isnt gonna be used, and your thumbnail previews.
How do you disable Thumbnail Preview?
