I need to COMPLETELY wipe my HDD. I don't have a floppy drive. Any suggestions?

Been doing naughty things have you?

Easiest way: Take it out, put a magnet in front of it.

If you want to use it in future, go into disk management, right click the partition (the whole drive in most cases) and go on format.

I am assuming your using Windows.

Uh, no I haven't. But, I don't want to risk it putting a magnet up to it. That's absurd. I was more looking for a bootdisk that allows formatting options. -_-

You can use your Windows Disk

    or

    Dariks Boot and Nuke

    http://dban.sourceforge.net/

Beware, its slow on Core Duo and Core 2 Duo systems the next release should fix that, as there is already a BETA for it.

Yep.. Use any linux bootdisk that allows manual partitioning(they all do), and then go as far as the partitioning tool, delete all the partitions, and then commit/apply/write the changes, depending on which tool you are using. Or boot from a live cd distro, and use fdisk, gpart, whatever. Really, there are infinite ways of doing the stuff. Pick any one.

LOL. I was only joking about the naughty things bit.

Can't you google the boot disk? It's really easy to do it in disk management though. Or when you re-install an operating system it usually gives you the option of formatting (I'm not sure about Vista though because I've never done it with Vista).

You can format it with the Win XP disk. You also can download for free a boot disk for your CD drive and even for your Pendrive (previously set in the Bios). The pendrive option is nice cause you actually can create a DOS bootable disk from windows.
