Use an email client like Outlook or with 2 browsers have a normal and private session open in each one

Are you using a web based client for your email or Outlook?

With Outlook you can open as many emails as you want at the same time.

In web based, you will need to open each email in a separate tab or window.

    am i missing something here.
just use a new tab (Ctrl + T) to open as many emails as you want from the same email account.

MrDJ OP is trying to use multiple accounts

personally I would forward as many as I can to one catch all ( in my business info@, and 2 others are forwarded to a single address )

otherwise I use Outlook 2013 for working in 6 email accounts and multiple emails in each simultaneously, but any version works good I have seen upwards of 30 email accounts setup in one system. web based is just FAR too limiting

Another vote for Outlook 2013 or 2010. If you have Office Pro or University, you have outlook.

Note that here we are talking about outlook, the program, not outlook.com, they are two completely different things. However, it is ridiculously easy to add an outlook.com account to outlook 2010/2013.

There are other e-mail clients such as Mozilla Thunderbird as well.

Otherwise, KCETech1's first solution also works, I have a gmail that is redirected to an outlook.com account and my university e-mail is forwarded there as well. Not that I log in on my outlook.com account from the website, I use outlook 2013 or 2010 for that. Do note that outlook is a rather complex and powerful piece of software and may be overkill for you.

You can't open two different email accounts at the same time in a normal browsing session using outlook.com. The login uses a cookie...

Indeed, hence the suggestion of outlook (the program). The Blackberry does exactly that, it has an app that can pull and send e-mails from any server as long as you point it to said server.

I'll add opera mail as another e-mail client suggestion. Heck, even the basic mail app included in Windows 8 will do what the OP wants.

Side note: thank you MS for naming your e-mail service quite similarly to a program part of the Office suite because it isn't confusing at all. /s

    Ohhhhh!

Thank you Madame KCETech1. That was the part I was missing.

In regards to the Outlook option, I concur. You can have many different accounts open at the same time....with one great exception.

You can only have one Microsoft Exchange/Sharepoint account open in Outlook at a time. You can have multiple internet mail accounts (gmail, hotmail, yahoo, etc.) open at the same time, but if your work/school/etc. uses Exchange or Sharepoint, that specific mail account can only be opened by itself. Its part of the mail profiles of Windows. If you use Outlook or another email client, you can see your mail profiles in the mail control panel. All your internet based email accounts can be linked to a single POP/IMAP based email profile within Outlook. That is because Outlook will download and archive all your internet email data locally onto your hard drive. Not the case with an Exchange/Sharepoint email. The data for those accounts is stored on the Exchange/Sharepoint server. Each time you open up Outlook and select that Exchange/Sharepoint account, Outlook has to download those data files each time and resync them when you open/edit/delete/send email on those accounts.

TL;DR: You can open and and use multiple Internet email accounts (gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc.) at the same time using Outlook.
You cannot have multiple Exchange/Sharepoint accounts opened at the same time. Nor can you have Internet email accounts opened at the same time as Exchange/Sharepoint accounts in Outlook.
