I use DVD Decrypter to make an image of the DVD. Then I take the VOB files and convert them to MP3 using BeLight.

In BeLight, you would browse for the file to input (VOB file), then choose a destination which will output as MP3.

    Which one? BeLight?

My apologies, I forgot to mention BeLight is the graphical interface of BeSweet.

    Here's BeSweet,

    Here's BeLight,

There's no installation process for BeSweet. You just extract it. You also extract the contents of BeLight into the contents of BeSweet. Then you load BeLight and that's all. You'll know what to do from there.

If you want to take certain snippets of the DVD audio, I recommend using Audacity to do so. It's like Windows Movie Maker, except for audio.

DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD, DVDShrink to shrink the files down to fit on a regular DVD.

Check out www.doom9.org for help on DVD related things.

You can get the audio using only DVD Decrypter in 'IFO' mode (stream processing enabled). If 'LPCM' is one of the stream choices that's the best one. AC3 is second best. Then use BeLight or BeSweet or Audacity or LAME or whatever your favorite MP3 encoding program is.

Hmm. Never heard of that one. Does it work well? I usually stick to AnyDVD and CloneDVD, but freeware progs are always welcomed.
