So I was in class a few minutes ago, and while the professor was lecturing I saw one of my classmates (with Windows 7, ofcourse) opening up a few explorer windows. I was kind of surprised (and envious) to see that the white area that was supposed to be, well, white, was transparent in hers! I was sure it was transparent and not just a background photo similar to her desktop background since when she moved the windows, it basically acted like the glass window panes Aero is all about! It also has the glare/blur kind of effect I see on the Aero interface..
So how did she do it? Did she use a theme or something?![]()
EDIT: Here's the photo of what I'm pointing at:

Must be a theme.

Odd, never seen this before.
EDIT: Check this out -
I know, right? I saw this one too, but not the one I saw at class earlier.
Ow man, looks like I have to ask her directly. It sucks because it was cool and I don't know how to do it! lol. -

Ask her! I'd like to know!
-
Indeed ask her since I'd like to know the details as well.
Furthermore, I've seen this effect months ago.
It involved extending the glass/transparency effect into the workfield of the windows, but the values needed to create the effect had to have been put in manually to my knowledge in order for the glass/transparency effect to extend properly. -
Sure will!
I'll have to go look for a chance though, so it might take a while.
I'm also not sure about extending the transparency whatsoever because, what would happen if you maximize the window then?
Maaan, I have to see those people! They are a group, actually, I just saw one having that kind of effect on her notebook. -
Probably a WindowBlinds theme.

Yeah, kinda like this..well, regardless I'll try to ask her about it.

Right on the main page, in the header. "Keep maximized windows transparent"

Well i can tell you that windowblinds can do that, but instead of being transparent, I have mine show a picture instead.

) does enable that.
this has nothing to do with window-content-glass-support. -
I tried a glass theme that changed the white part of the start menu clear but not the exploror window. so if its not a theme then what could it be.
How do you turn the white area on the explorer window transparent?
