I just got a new notebook and transferred a lot of old programs onto it. Many of them I haven't had time to run yet and are highlighted in a very distracting yellow hue on the start menu. Is there a way to "mark them as read" and make them the same as all of the other programs?

Go into your start menu options and uncheck "Highlight newly installed programs".

Thanks! Wow, I wasn't even aware that the windows button has a properties tab. Learn something new every day I guess. +rep for you.
How do you unhighlight items in the start menu?
