I have a BD-Drive that according to the manufacturer site, has 4MB Buffer but Everest only says 2MB. I wonder if Everest gets that information from actually analyzing the drive or from a database. If it is from a database then Everest gets it wrong. If it is from actually analyzing the drive, then I may get a lemon.

I think it just polls the drive firmware and report the results. Which drive is it?

I think it's just a bug with Everest or doesn't support your drive, I would not be worried about it.
My guess is that your drive has 2 memory chips, and for some reason Everest call to get that info return only 1 of the chips as it doesn't support your drive (doesn't know the proper API calls) -

Which version of Everest are you using?

Everest Ultimate latest version (5.30.1900). I have just downloaded DVDInfoPro http://www.dvdinfopro.com/ and it too tells me that I only have 2MB Buffer.
