I'll get it once there is enough people out there to give good relaiable reviews on the performance of the OS, so far win xp has all that I need, the extra new software on the OS I've already purchased equivlents in third party software. That's been said, the earliest possible date when I'll get Vista is after the first service pack, Mircosoft has a track record of not produce its best software on launch (remember win 98,window 2000, win xp, and how we can forget the hype of win me?)

Most likely, I will get it when I get another desktop. Which will be in 1st-2nd quarter of 2007. I will most likely buy a retail version for my laptop too, if it lives up. I can't wait to see how good it actually is. The voice recognition and networking looks great. Also, the USB Flash acting as RAM is great too. :)

well I dual boot with Linux, love the image rendering system in Linux... images are so wildly vivid!

But I will install Vista, because my school will provide a copy to it's students under license! :-D Let's see if I can dualboot it with winXP.. hmm... interesting...!

No Vista for me. I'm tired of Microsoft treating me like I'm criminal instead of a paying customer. If what I hear is true, Vista will be ten times worse about that than XP. (Not to mention how expensive that upgrade will be! *whistles* Thank you, but no! I have better things I can spend my money on.. :D)

Linux or Mac will be my next upgrade!

"I'm waiting for it to buy a laptop" should be a choice on on the poll. Knowing the problems you get cleaning up the HD to get a fresh instal!!!

I will use Windows for a while, not used to the other operating systems, have barely used them.

But Vista looks like complete and total **** right now, I can't see anything great about it, looks like XP 1.5. I cannot beleive the stupid Aero Glass needs a dedicated GPU when its so unimpressive. The guys at Microsoft are smoking crack I swear, I'll be using XP for a while, its been a great, wonderful OS to me and Vista brings absolutely nothing new for me.

Only thing that I think is awesome is that you can use flash-memory...like USB flash drives as RAM/swapfile. Which will be alot faster than the hard drive. :) That will be awesome, but I want to see how good it will work first. :)

    How do you know??
    Have you Beta Tested this?
    I DOUBT IT!!
do you know how much a graphics card to run Vista on costs?
    Here's the answer windbag!: $25.00!
As far as PC components go these days that is CHEAP!
So shut your mouth and talk about something you have actually used!!

Dude, chill. So you're a beta tester... I don't think anybody's impressed by this. And no, I haven't tested, seen it, or care for it. I like, most people, will use it when it comes packaged with a future new notebook.

This is who I was talking to ^^^^^^^^
I only got angry because none of this is true it is all opinion!
And what really got me to post that was the comment:

This idiot probably doesn't know that these "guys at microsoft who are smoking crack" have sold 5.5 Million copies of thew O/Ss they create (That is just the stat for XP)

I meant no offense to anyone else here except rahulnirmal

    Oh and a note!
Vista makes security easy and does most of the security for you so you don't have to have piece of C$%P programs like Norton running all the time

Please test this O/S before ragging on it like rahulnirmal,

I definatly won't trust vista until it hits at least SP1 or a bunch of fixes come out. I will stick with XP Pro and Server 2003 before I move up.

I'm probably going to get Vista...eventually. If Vista doesn't have its first SP out after a year or so, I may consider switiching to Mac OS X.

I'm not to happy about the Vista delays though - I was hoping that MS could finally get their act together and set a release date they would stick to.

A bloated OS by Microsoft. That requires you to virtually buy a new laptop or upgrade your desktop. It seems that you would need

    1. A VISTA-supported monitor [I heard without it , movie quality would drop...Not those standard movies , I meant those HD Kind of movies]

    2. DirectX 10 Card - It says 9 would work. I bet it needs some new stuff

I am not looking for an eye-candy OS...All I want it to be simple and nice. XP itself is quite 'bloated'. On the other hand , OSX Tiger is not that bloated , if you compare it with VISTA. It even runs fine on a 1999 PowerMac G3 , but vista needs all those extras. We shall see how it goes......If VISTA is okay , not that bloated , then I would get it , when SP1 comes out

I will only get it if I have to -XP does everything I need.

I guess they can't stick to a release date because this is the Os version of War of the Worlds. They have to make sure they're done so they don't end up with Windows ME. Really you have to wonder if they're even all agreed on calling it 'Vista' still at this point.

I'll definitely get Vista....the problem is I probably need a new computer so I'm gonna get a new laptop later this year and then get vista after the first service pack is released. I reckon there are bound to be some glitches when the OS is first released, and fact that Microsoft are taking so long to sort things does not convince me to buy it as soon as it is released.
