i am using 93% - 5GB free of 73.5 (80GB advertised)
is this okay? do i need to cut down or how much can i stuff it with?

Consider an external hard disk if you need more space.
-
I would start nixing things I didn't need before it all starts piling on. Hard drives don't really like being full, and Windows especially doesn't like it. As Vespoli said, an external hard drive is a great way to store some of your data that you don't need on your system, and get it out of the way of more crucial things.

almost exactly 50% of 60Gb.

160GB drive in the MX6931 I just got. 40GB partition for OS duties, the rest as one big "Storage" partition. Not much on it presently since I just wiped it clean - I do that 5x a week or more because I test software constantly.
But it's nice to have a ton of space nowadays to play with. I think next week I'll make a 20 then a 40 then the rest for Storage: 20 for XP64 and 40 for Vista Business 64.

well ive got approx 10gb out of 120 free, but they are scattered amongst 3 partitions..which is my problem. My windows partition has about 500mb free (thank god for 2gb of ram i guess). I'm waiting for that 250gb external to get here already so i can back everything up, wipe my laptop free, and start anew.

It's basically all music that takes up 75% of my 100GB drive.
-
I'm using about 15 or 20Gb of a 100Gb drive
Games, music, programs and documents -
right now, I'm using about 72% of my hard drive.
-
-
My laptop hard drive is currently 0.00% full, as it is currently being shipped to my house, and the OS is not pre-installed..
Edit: also, weird results. :S
it seems to follow a curve, except 51-75 is at 0. -
that kind of curve would get 10 million for 4 years at the rate that the market is going
-
Somewhere under 25%. 21.3 used out of 93GB. I need to delete some of my raw videos for the movie I already edited and saved, they are taking up like 1.5 GB. About 4GB for music.
-
Right now at this exact moment, 14gig out of 55gig(60g)
I recently sold over 360gigs of backup space that I realized I wasnt using and just stick with a 60gig 2.5" WD Passport. -

I had 320GB over two external drives, the 120 wasn't needed and the 200 had a fault under partition magic (henceforth to be known as satan in software form) and wiped the entire drive with about 20Mb of the 180Gb or so on there recoverable.
Now I just have my 60Gb SATA drive, it's all i need. Music and vids re all on my media centre which has a 20Gb system drive and 80GB data drive. -
I'm using about 50% of a 100GB HDD with two partitions, also have a 160GB external.
-
I've read that it's best to keep it under 50% capacity. Is that true? If I hit around 50%, should I invest in an external drive to much anything additional?

I have mine split into three partitions, OS, Data, Media. Right now I am below 50%, but having three external hard drives right here helps in that department.

Went down from 28Gb free to 16Gb free after installing GTA San Andreas, America's Army and FEAR Combat. I don't think all of them will be staying! I like having hard drive space to spare!

question

I have 20.6GB free/93.1GB total, so ~77.9% full.
-
use more than 95% of my 120GB drive. 15 GB for C partition and 3GB left. other three partitions are full of musics and games, and average 300MB left to each one.
-
Used 11.5GB out of 80GB.

-
Right at about 12-13 gigs used. /80
-
33 gigs free on my 93.2 gig HDD
-
. windows and many burning programs of pagefile handling can be problematic
i keep mine at 80-85% full max - just a personal preference
cheers ... -
I use about 14 gigs of my 40 gig hard drive; plenty of room to grow!
