How do I change the Default video player on Firefox from Quicktime to something else, like VLC or Windows Media?

Perhaps Quicktime is the default media player in Windows. Maybe change your settings there.

I'm not completely sure, but I believe the only thing that determines the default player for anything is the file type settings of each player. If you let media players install automatically, they decide that they should be the default for every file type, and override settings you may have had for other players.

Try going in to the settings of the player you want to be your default, and you should be able to find a tab that shows all the file types that player is able to display. Check all the boxes, and click ok. If this doesn't work, I'm stumped... all my videos open up in WMP.

Exactly what was saying. If you go into windows explorer on the tools options menu you can change the default prorgram to open a file.
