I am obviously not a computer expert, which is why I am here...

I just checked out a student edition of Symantic and MS Office 2007. I do not see a 'Setup' or 'Install' icon, only a bunch of the programs. Is there a trick to installing them? I might have to wait until Monday when the computer dept is open if I need a key to install them programs.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

When you say checked out, do you mean you bought it? If you bought it then you put the CD in your CD drive and wait until something pops up to install it. If something doesn't pop up then open the start menu and go to "My Computer" and click on your CD drive (which has the CD inside) to start the installation.

No, I checked out the disks. Evidently, they are student editions and are able to be loaded onto out computers. It may also be becuase it is a Federal school. I am just unable to find an install icon. There are many programs and I did not kow if there is a trick to loading new software, it has been awhile.

So are you loading the software onto a school computer? That explains why you wouldn't be able to install it.

I'm not sure, but it sounds like his school offers copies of office that the enrolled students can install on their notebooks, but he's having trouble performing the actual install.

When you put the disc into the computer, does a screen pop up with any information?

Ask your IT department on how to install the supplied programs. If you had bought CD's they should guide you through the installtion process once you pop in the CD's.
