My HDTV accepts 1280x768 signals from VGA port, but for some reason it doesn't accept 1280x720 or 1366x768 (the image is off center by half about 600 pixles). I want to watch 720P movies through my laptop, which AOR (aspect of ratio) settings/value do I stech the source video to so it displays the correct aspect of ratio on the HDTV screen?

assuming the screen has square pixels:

    720/768 = 0.9375 (or the other way-around? i think this way).

but if your screen doesn't have square pixels but instead fits 16:9 it could work out to not need any rescaling.. i'd suggest starting up paint or so, and paint a square in it (holding shift while painting a rectangle with the mouse, that is). and check on tv. if it's not square, try the value given above (or you could measure length and with of that non-square-rectangle and divide one with the other, to get about the same value).

hdtv's can be annoying at times :)
