Hi, I've never backed up anything before. I'm using Lenovo Y510p and trying to backup my computer before I upgrade to windows 8.1 from windows 8.
Apparently I can use this software that came up with it called "onekey recovery" to backup my computer.
I open up onekey recovery, and the "image size" is 80gb!! Is that normal?
Secondly, I don't understand where I'm supposed to store this. If there's a problem and my hard drive gets fried or corrupted, what was the point of creating a back up? My USB isn't nearly large enough to contain that image. What should I do?
Is there a specific place on the hard drive I'm supposed to put it? Default tries to put it into D drive (my SSD that came with laptop) and that's only 24gb.

Lenovo allows you to back up everything on your system. In your case, you likely have approximately 80GB worth of data on your drive. The best option is to back it up to an external hard drive. It's going to take a while to do, but you'll have a complete backup of your system when you're done. Now if you only need to backup certain files (say personal info, pictures, documents, video, music, etc.), then you can just copy the applicable folders and files yourself. Lenovo's backup utility is useful when you need to back up the operating system and all your installed programs.
