This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    If you are using Google Chrome, make sure you block the Software Reporter Tool which is known to cause high CPU usage. You only need an Antivirus + common sense to protect yourself and certainly not a browser to try to scan your files and protect you.

    Now, I have always been simply denying access to that folder as shown in the guide above but I just saw that there is also a registry hack to block it so I'm doing that as well and here is the registry file I made to save you some time:

    Disable Chrome Software Reporter Tool.reg

    Or instead of Chrome, use Brave browser...Same engine, yet not an ad-maniac company behind..
