Hey, I got a problem that I need some help with. My gf's computer has Vista currently running on it and I want to install XP on it. But for some reason when I put XP cd in it it doesn't wanna boot from it. I don't even see the little message press key to boot from CD. Is there a trick in Vista ? how do u get intio Bios ?

What kind of computer/motherboard? most recent ones have a hotkey you can press on POST to get it to give you a boot selection screen.
Reading your last 2 questions makes me a bit hesitant to recommend you going ahead with wiping and installing the OS.
Why do you want to install XP on it for her? did she ask for XP?
Have you backed up her stuff yet?
do you have all the drivers for her machine ready?
All the software that she needs to be reinstalled?
Those aren't that important if this is your way of ending a relationship, lol... -
I'm ok with install, just had hard time gettin into Bios and boot options. When the comp would turn on it would have screen with press ESC for options..... for a slight second, I must've rebooted 5times and nuttin would happen. Finally had to keep pressing ESC beofre the comp would power back on then it would go into Bios, strange.
How to boot from disk in Vista ?
