Hey forum-members!
First of all: I didnt know where to place this thread, so I just posted it here. I usually get the most replies here, so if the Admins dont agree with it they can remove this thread somewhere else.
I was thinking and came up with an idea. My question is: is it possible to start your notebook with your voice? For example, when you say Notebook On the notebooks boots automaticaly.
I am really curious about this. If you guys know which program or utility to use, I would gladly here it.
By the way: My notebook has an integrated microphone and is working properly.
Thanks guys,
Charlie![]()

I dont think so.

I think the notebook would have to be powered on for the microphone to work....it would have to analyze your voice and compare it to a known. And that takes cpu power....you might be able to turn it off with voice, but I doubt on would work unless you had some other kind of device...What device that would be, i don't know.

i know that if you use voice reconition software u can control programs in windows and shut it off with your voice .
but to let it boot up is a no-no i think -

I already thought it would be impossible, but now you guys have confirmed it.

"Can you power on my laptop, dad?"

"Computer OFF!" -
It seems kinda piontless to me, it's just as easy to say "Notebook On" as it is to push a button to turn it on.

I wouldn't think so. Even if you could, it would be extremely difficult to calibrate your voice.

This really is turning into an Off Topic Thread...LOL

actually it is not quite as far-fetched thinking. one can try to have a device that is voice-activated and this device would serve as a power contact for the power button. now some wiring would need to be performed from the laptop to the voice activated device and ...
cheers ...
