Hello everyone! Ever since day 1, my Dell 7737 has always performed like a snail. Most forums recommended i do a format with a fresh copy of windows 10. So that is what i will try. I downloaded a fresh copy of 10 to a usb drive. I want to change the boot order so that when i restart, i can get the laptop to read from the usb and install fresh copy windows 10.

Also, I've been advised to do a "custom" installation from the installation menu offered, and delete all partitions, even Dell recovery. How would i do that???

    Thank you

In that tutorial, #11-on boot tab, no option exists for "Enable CSM" and #12-boot menu :no "Fast Boost" option exists either. I'm using a Dell Inspiron 7737

The settings are most likely the way they should be already, given the age of the laptop. Go ahead and do the install.

But before you do, consider getting a SSD instead, that will improve the speed a lot.

Press F12 during boot. If you if you see two USB drives, pick the one that says UEFI.
Delete all partitions shown in the second pic in post 2, part 11. Click Drive options first.

    Phoennix:
I am still stuck with,,what exactly am i supposed to change/alter in the BIOS menu. I have attached a screenshot of my bios menu. And none of those options are there.
    # 11-There is not option to "Enable CSM"
#12-no optiion exists for "Fast Boot"
#14- there is not options given of "UEFI: (with corresponding name of my usb with win10 shown)

None of these options exist,,therefore i don't know what to alter in my bios to get the desired result of boot to usb.

The two first settings are less common in newer laptops.
    Why didn't you press F12?

If you can't find the UEFI USB in F12, turn off secure boot in F2 BIOS and try again.

"UEFI Boot Mode, Secure Boot Off" should be the right option here.

SL2: Yes, you were right. I went back to F12, and this time, the usb key was recognized,,even though it showed 2 listings for usb, usb1 and usb2, both with the same name of my usb devce. I chose the first one, and new installation began, as i chose "advanced" so t would be a complete fresh install. ( though i dont' understand why the system must keep the previous version, and tells you it's saving it as file, "Windows.old"
Anyways..the installation stopped, and gave me the error message, " Windows Setup could not reinitialize the deployment engine. To install Windows, restart the installation." So,,i clicked " OK " and that brings me back to the first "Windows Setup" window, and "Install Now" choice., brings you the message " Setup is starting". Windows Setup message comes up to enter activation code, which i click on" i don't have a product key"...Window Setup window appears with Licencing Agreement, wich i tick the checkbox and hit "next"...The Windows Setup message appears again,,and i click on " Custom: Install Windows only(advanced) so its a clean install, where i'm given 5 choices to click on, where to install the new windows.
