    I can change the username but I don't where to change the host name which shows up in the "cmd" window when I type "ipconfig /all"

    What is the difference between username and host name ?

    The hostname is the 1 that is exchanged when you connect to a wireless network ?

    the host name is the name of your pc (computername). the username is, well, the name of the user logged in on the computer (could be you, your brother, your dad, your mom, your wife, your friend, whoever).

    rightclick onto "my computer", chose properties. somewhere there (depending on the os) you can set the computer name.

    Right-click on "My Computer", Properties->Advanced System Settings->Computer Name->Network ID
