I have old desktop with onboard video controller: IntelĀ® 82845G Graphics Controller, and i want to add to this pc New Samsung T190 widescreen monitor, but there is no possibility to set 1440 x 900 (WXGA+) resolution. Max res that i can get is 1280x768.
Does anybody knows software that doesn't cares about drivers, and can set any resolution?
I tried Power Strip and Riva Tuner - no good results.

I'm not really sure if that's even possible. If you are talking about a desktop computer you could just grab a cheap GPU such as the radeon HD 4350, or even one of last year's models if you can find one for cheaper.

See if you can update the drive for your card... go to intel.com and search for a newer driver. It may offer the res you want.

If not... then as mentioned it's a desktop so you can add a cheap graphics card.

Your GPU has to support the resolution. And then the the driver has to support custom resolutions.
