    Okay so my kaspersky picked this up as a security vulnerability. Okay, whatever. So I go to update it, I update it fine. I see a new version of the activex plugin installs, but Flash9x.ocx is not deleted. Nor will windows let me delete it.

    I tried doing what
    http://seoroot.com/blog/computing/o...indows/delete-flash9xocx-and-flashutil9e.html
    said to do, but I keep getting access denied after I successfully unreg it (yes I ran it as admin)

    Any one have any suggestions what to do now?

    Im on x86 vista home premium btw

    @Lakjin:

    . start button, type in "cmd" in the search field, this will bring up the find on top of the menu, right click on that field and choose run as administrator. Somehow this is more than start->run in administrator mode
    . try the steps in your link again

    or
    . try under safemode

    cheers ...

    You might want to check and make sure that there is no instance of adobe related processes anywhere in the startup processes list as well, before attempting the clean up.

    cheers ...

    ok so i did a routine virus scan via kaspersky and it picked up flash9x.ocx as a vulnerability again...i check the designated folder and its still there...what the hell, the adobe uninstaller i ran earlier said it would "dlete flash9x.ocx after reboot"

    what the hell, this is so annoying. time to troubleshoot some more...
