    hello all

i am using one of my friend's machines, OS is windows xp, and the
    browser is ie

i want to delete my browsing history before returning it back to him

will going to, tools, internet options, delete, delete all, be enough
to delete the history completely? or some more files could be hidden
    somewhere in the computer !?

another question is that, the computer doesnt have google desktop,
would he be able to find my browsed emailes or conversations if he
    downloaded google desktop later ?

    thnx in advance

As far as I know deleting it from the options menu should be enough.
I don't think it hides anything anywhere else.

What did you use to brose your e-mail and what conversation program did you use? If you checked your e-mail thourgh IE then he won't be able to access it. If you used MSN your conversation history could be saved somewhere on the hard drive.

Jokes about porn aside, you'd want to delete the history, cookies, and temporary internet files. Those're all on the dialog you referred to. Thibault is right about the email. If you used some email client the messages may well be on the hard drive, but if you just used IE and some web based email, you're good.

You could download CCleaner (uninstall it later). It will clean all of that for you. Its a nice little program. I recommend it quite a bit.

There's also so info about your history hiding in the index.dat files. I think it's only the urls though, so he wouldn't actually be able to read the text (and I doubt he would know to look there anyway.)
