    Hello,

How do you stop Windows 7's automatic driver install? I can print but I can't use any of the functions (scan, fax, etc) because I can't install the program that came with the printer...

    Thank you,

I don't know the answer to "stop Windows 7 automatic driver install".

But, if you go to Devices and Printers, right click on your device, select "Printer Properties" (not Properties), Advanced Tab, you should see a Driver field where you can select "New Driver" and it will take you through a "Add Printer Driver Wizard". Select Have Disk and point the install to the location where you have the drivers for your printer stored.

Sadly, that menu is for Windows 7 RC... The retail version has different layout. I tried different settings with no luck

Where does it say it's for RC?

I'm not at home now and I don't have W7 at work, can't check it out. What happens if you type "Windows Update Driver Settings" in the search bar?

    Edit: Tried the second link?

Yes, but checking the box, "No, let me choose what to do" should accomplish the same thing.

Edit: Did you try installing your driver as I indicated in my post (#2)?
