    How to do a CLEAN reinstall of Vista ?

    I did a reinstall of Vista 2 weeks ago but I don't remember I had the choice to do a clean install ...where and when do I have to make this choice during the reinstall ?

    Erhm you just avoid choosing upgrade? Just make sure you get to the disk manager and delete atleast the c:\ partition and then create a new and install windows on it.. Shouldnt be rocket sciene, the installs of vista/7 are so user friendly

    I have to delete the c:/ partition during the reinstall ?

    Ignore the above post.

    You can get a clean install without deleting the partition. Just choose Custom installl and pick your C partition as the target.

    I don't understand how that myth is still being propagated.

    You get to make the choice right at the start of Setup.

    If Vista was already installed and you reinstalled it, it may not have given you any choice because there was no "upgrade" option, i.e. maybe clean install was the only thing it could do so it just did that.

    I guess if you can't figure that out, time to hit up those For Dummies books.
