    im trying to help a friend. how do i do a remote desktop from my comp to hers, do i need her default gateway ip adress? and how does she enable remote desktop connection?

    If you're (and the other person) are using Windows 7, the easiest way is to open Remote Assistance and have the person read off the code to you from Easy connect. Unlike Teamviewer, there's nothing to download, and isn't as dependent on your internet connection (from personal experience anyway, also works better with older computers).

    I believe Blaze-Senpai's advice presents the simplest solution as Windows comes equipped with everything you need for a remote connection. Installing extra programs is unnecessary if you can use either Windows' Remote Connection or Remote Assistance software. You just need to connect to the home network.
