Some sites provide links to play music on their pages (either in midi, wav or other formats). You click on the link and the music plays right there.
Anybody knows how to download those music files?
Thanks.

Depending on the type of link, sometimes you can right-click the link and click 'Save as..'.
-
-
Then they might either expect you to pay to download or do not want to hurt their arrangement with the artists in the form of advertising for them.
-
You might be able to find the midi file on another site. Try using this MIDI search engine:

Have you tried using FireFox's Tools->PageInfo->Media?
-
I would think that it is possible to record whatever you're hearing through your speakers. It would take some tinkering with Audacity but it shouldn't be that difficult.

What website specifically is it? These days it is usually a Flash playing music.

If you give us a specific link or something, I'm sure one of us can probably figure out how to do it.

Use it at your own risk, I have never tried this software before.
EDIT: You could have saved a bunch of posts by posting the link earlier. -
lol ricksaint, I just found out that Grooveshark has their own downloader called Sharkbyte.
http://grooveshark.com/download
I believe Orbit Downloader is better though. -
- The above link is a 404.
- The Orbit Downloader keeps searching for the files but never downloads them.
Thanks anyway. -
Here is another solution you can try:

By the way, for Orbit Downloader, check out this video:
<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/u6Ba3iwy8dA&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/u6Ba3iwy8dA&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width='480' height='385'></embed>Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
Thanks, man. You rock!Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
Wouldn't this be against the terms and conditions of the site?
While it can be done - the owner of the site will offer a download link if its a downloadable file.
If the link is not give - yes, it can be done - but its dodgy ground at best.
I think I'll report this thread - and let moderators decide if it isn't better off closed. -
From the website's terms of service.

cheers ... -
