I lost some functions of my computer.I'm running 32 bit Vista basic. The problem started with the loss of the visual sound bar at the bottom of the screen. Then I lost some of the functions that the function key operates. Then I lost my symbols. When I hold the shift key and hit a symbol.I get nothing. What's happened.I haven't had any updates today, and everthing was working earlier.I've tried restart and a fresh reboot, nothing works.I can't find anything that's off in my settings. :confused2: :realmad: :swoon:

By visual sound bar do you mean the default speaker tray icon and volume control? If so then right click on the task bar > Properties > Notification Area > System icons > Volume (check it). I don’t know what you mean by "Then I lost my symbols" what symbols and where ?? if you are referring to some sort of a special buttons or functions provided as a part of a special toolbar or utility application, then try reinstalling those applications.

What is your notebook model ?
