I want to use an audio ripping/encoding program to create MP3s from Cds. I will probably use Audiograbber or foobar etc but I want to use LAME for the encoding of the music to MP3s. When I go to LAME's site they don't have a Windows binary for download, but only the source code. They tell people to compile it themselves. My question is what are you guys doing? Did you compile it yourself(if so what compiler etc do you need?) or did you get the binary somewhere(if so where is a reliable place to get it)? Thanks.

(Got it via the audacity site http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/plugins , else I can dig around for an old lame.dll file I have somewhere from my audacity usage for you...) -

many media players will have an option to use an external, already compiled LAME encoder. Also look at the stuff at http://www.codecguide.com

I just use the Lame plugin
How to get/compile LAME for creation of MP3s?
