It's constantly popping up and telling me to turn on my Automatic Updates. I have it off because I don't want it constantly running in the background and manually do the updates.

How do I make the stupid thing go away that keeps telling me to turn them on?

I believe it is under Start>Control Panel>Security Center>Change the Way Security Center Alerts Me

Can't say for sure b/c I don't have admin rights here and it's grayed out.

It could be the security centre service, try going to run>services.msc then deactivate "security centre" from starting. Restart and see if that makes a difference.

Just go into Security Center (double click shield icon), then choose "Change the way Security Center alerts me" from the Resources box on the left. In the dialog that comes up, uncheck the Automatic Updates item.

    Done now.

Please keep your system patched, though. We don't need any more zombie machines on teh intarweb, ya know.
