    Hi there

When I helped my uncle to run the Windows Genuine Advantage test, his Windows XP Pro failed the test, what should he do to to fix this problem without format his PC ?

Can he just get an OEM Windows XP Pro and then use Key changer to change his key from the illegal one to the legit one ?

    Please kindly advise.

    Many thanks in advance.

Well, we know he is using a cracked version of the OS...which might contain a few extra "goodies" like rootkits or cracks that make the system potentially unstable. I would really recommend that you do a complete installation for piece of mind.

You can buy a 'key' from Microsoft to have it pass and be legit. Or you can you eBay and buy WinXP Pro and do a complete reinstallation.

Illegal Windows is a very big security threat, even if you change a key, really. Highly recommended to buy the OEM pack and reinstall.
