I already exhausted all research on getting XP running on VGN-FZ410E. Sony support said is only designed for windows vista. Unfortunately vista is super slow (even with 2 GB of RAM) and unusable, I definitively need XP.

I created separate partition ready to install XP, but on the installation process the HDD is not detectable, therefore i cannot go over.

Please let me know if some of you already solved this issue. If i cannot get XP, i will return the laptop immediate, i just got'it and i still have time for return.

I already looked over some discussions here, seems some guys having success with some different models, maybe some of you may know in this case too.

PS: I case is not possible to get XP, please suggest me the same/similar configuration on other laptop with XP support.

    Many thanks.

well, the sony people lied to you.. xp can be installed on any computer.

you need to search "slipstreaming xp sata drivers"

and if you don't want vista, just do a complete reformat

    Thanks guys!
PS: I installed Vinsta on other partition in case i need some vista features :)

Sony doesn't support XP in FZ. So if you have problems in future, you will have to deal with that yourself.
