Please don't say I'm asking how to install XP from a USB stick because that's easy to do and it's not what I'm asking. I'm asking how to install XP ONTO a USB memory stick so I can run Windows XP on it. I can't find any good tutorials on it. Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure this is impossible, as you can't even install it on an external HDD.

It can be easily done if windows xp is modified by preloaded usb drivers at startup and modifying some parts of windows xp.

I saw that, I just asked if there was an easier way to do it.

And I'm trying to do this with a Netbook, which will require me to get a USB DVD drive to do this...

Indeed it does. That's a rather interesting little tutorial there.

Not sure. I never put an OS on a USB drive. I am sure someone here who has had experience doing so will help you out.

Not sure if it is as simple as installing it and your ready to go though.

*If* you can get it to work, it's gonna be slow as snot. If this is a consumer-grade USB stick it will likely die in short order.

Cheap USB sticks don't have the i/o bandwidth to run a msft OS and the flash memory isn't designed for that kind of constant r/w activity. Burn Out.

I'm not quite sure that was the relevant point here.

Try it yourself. Running windows xp on an SD card isn't slow at all. I've ran xp on the SD card for more than a year and half and I've experienced no "broken" sd card.
