Hey guys, Okay i am ready to install xp 32 bit to my sager 2090. For better gaming performance. I just want some help.
    My senerio for installation. 2 partitions . C & D
    C: vista 32 bit install
D: games & important files (backup)
    What i want to do.
Install xp 32 bit to C drive and overwrite and be able to access my d as i would in vista 32 bit from my computer like nothing has ever happened.

What problems can occur during installation? When successful install what problem could i have? Unstable drivers? or is it should be all good?. Will my games conflict? or any of my hardware?

My steps right now to install this is. Pop window xp cd in and it will do the setup and take me to a screen where i pick partitions. This is where i can see my c& d and i will delete my c drive and recreate it and select it where xp install and hopefully everything will be good.

    Will this work?

i don't think vista will let you just install xp over it :)

you could always dual boot, or format C:, getting rid of Vista and having XP as your main OS.....

SAVE all your important files b4 doing anything.......

ok, you can try to just install xp over vista w/out formating, but I think you will have to format C:

No, dual boot is where you can boot into 2 diff OS's at your discretion--like Vista & XP, Vista-Linux, Xp-Linux, etc.

Just format C and install XP on that partition. Your D drive will remain untouched and be fully accessible under XP.

you need to slipstream the SATA drivers into the XP cd,,,, or if you have a floppy drive you can just create a floppy and hit F6 when it asks

see this link for info and a good walk-thru on making a slipstreamed SATA XP install cd... or just download the floppy files if you have a floppy drive (external should suffice)

    hope that solves your prob,
