More specifically, what elements of your folder settings are getting reset?

Size, date modified, date created, etc.
I had a bookmark of it somewhere but I guess I deleted or something.

I was in a rush and as a pretty tech savvy person myself, I find it quite silly that I forgot to mention the most important details of a problem!

Vista tends to forget folder settings in general. It is a problem that has persisted since its release. I had many problems with new folders automatically getting assigned to the photos folder format (w/ photo album columns rather than size, date modified). This was very annoying.

Another NBR member(sinstroic) posted this guide: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=198643

I am not sure exactly what you are looking for in a fix, but what this guide accomplishes is that it resets all of your folders to have a general file setting with Name, Date Modified, Type, and Size as the column headers. From that point on, you can go through and change specific folders and it will remember those new settings in the future. I have done this procedure now several times and each time it worked flawlessly. Keep in mind, however, that this will delete ALL your current folder settings for all folders on your drive. All folders will have the general settings. So for example you will have to go to your Pictures folder and change the folder settings to display it in large icon view(to show previews), or you will have to go and manually add the column "Artist" for the Music folder.

    Hope this helps.
